  • Students of All Trades!

    Funded May 18, 2023

Thank you so much for your support! The students are absolutely loving the materials! They were so excited that we got new materials to use! Our math manipulatives have already been pulled out and are helping the kids visualize and explore the math. I made copies of my reading comprehension and will be starting those packets next week! The whiteboards have been so useful for math and reading because we do not have a big board in our classroom. The kids and I appreciate your support more than you know!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Y

  • Sensory Overload!

    Funded May 11, 2023

It has only been a week and these resources are already making a big impact on my students! The stress balls and fidgets are being spread out through my students in kindergarten, 1st grade, and 5th grade. It is a great tool for all of my students to calm down. When my students get overstimulated or worked up, they know where their sensory bins are and they use all of the different fidgets and sensory balls to calm down. They get 5 minutes in their calm down spot ad then go back to work. My students were absolutely amazed to see all of the new sensory stuff!! They wanted to try everything and could not believe how much we got! The school year is almost over but I make sure to have my sensory bins all set up at the beginning of the year next year so my students are able to practice using their calm down spots from the beginning of the year! Thank you so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Y

This classroom project was brought to life by A family that cares about teachers and 3 other donors.
I have 10 students on my caseload as of now, all students are labeled special education. I am working with some Kindergarteners, some 1st graders, and some 5th graders. Seven of my students are on the spectrum, ranging from really high functioning to very low functioning. The other three are EBD. We work a lot of self regulation and calming strategies right now. All of my students seem to have some level of OCD and have a hard time focusing on work when things in my room are out of place. Storage and organization materials are needed so they have limited distractions and can focus on the work.
