Headphones for Language Development
Funded Feb 22, 2023It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give towards " Headphones for language development " for our classroom. With the headphones that were donated, we have been able to tap into further learning with the use of smaller groups to focus on differentiation amongst our students. We have also been able to utilize the Internet to participate in research projects ,language adquisition skills and web based math lessons with the use of our headphones, along with our laptops. This allows for more availability of the technology and the ability to concentrate on their personal learning, which can be limited when you have a large class. We have been able to developed the 4 domains to acquire language which are reading , listening, speaking and writing. We have been using the headphones to listen to assignments , videos , etc. and then to speak and explain our thinking through our schoology plattform . Students are able to aquire language in a faster way and improve in their communication skills. We had a lot of new comers this year and headphones had been a great tool to preview the content in spanish and in english so they are able to understand the concept better.
We are required to use I Ready which is an excellent personalized software for math . Students take a diagnostic and then gives them their own path for learning. That means that everyone has their own lesson .Without the headphones, this personalized pathway would not be possible , since at the same time and in the same classroom everyone is able to hear their on own lesson and work on their very own differentaited path .
Again, thank you for your donation. Our children's faces light up when the headphones are pulled out. They are colorful and they love the fact that they can have access to fun learning, at the touch of a few buttons and are ready to work where their own learning currently stands. We thank you that our students have abundance in school, even though that may not be the case elsewhere."”
With gratitude,
Ms. Quezada
