• Create, Make and Laminate!

  I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support in helping me acquire a laminator for my students with autism. Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in their education and daily lives.

  With this laminator, I have been able to create individualized materials tailored to my students' unique learning needs. Visual schedules, picture symbols, and placemats have become essential tools in their classroom and therapy sessions, helping them access the curriculum in a way that makes sense to them. These resources foster communication, independence, and engagement, making learning more accessible and enjoyable.

  Beyond the classroom, your generosity has extended into the homes of my students. I have been able to provide parents with durable, laminated resources to support learning and communication at home, creating a bridge between school and family life. These tools empower parents to reinforce routines, ease transitions, and support their children's development in meaningful ways.

• Speech Therapy Materials to Enhance Learning!

  Thank you so much for all of your support and for believing in my students. The materials obtained have helped my students work on their IEP goals and be engaged while doing so!

  We have worked on answering WH (who, what, where, when and why) questions, sorted objects into categories, labeled nouns and so much more! My students are eager to come to speech to use these new materials. They love the mini objects which we put into a mystery box which is even more exciting! My students love playing with the puzzles and often do their work to be able to play with them!

  We look forward to continuing to use these materials to see how far my students can go this year!”

• A Voice in the World Where Communicating is Hard!

  I can't even begin to express how grateful we are that my students are now have access to technology within their speech therapy sessions. We are using the iPad in more ways than imagined and it is providing them with opportunities that were not possible before.

  The first way the iPad is being used is for communication purposes. I was able to download speech generating applications that give a voice to students who are not able to use their own. These students are now able to request desired items (toys, food) and greet others (hi, goodbye). This is something that was not possible before- they were using picture symbols that did not give them immediate feedback. Giving students access to this form of communication before requesting a device of their own helps set the student up for success when they do receive their own.

  Another way this iPad is being used is within the classroom during collaboration lessons. This year the district is pushing for speech teachers to go into the classrooms and support curriculum. We are using the iPad to display the literacy materials in small groups. This gives us a chance to work individually with students within their classroom.
