School Events and Beautification

Funded Mar 21, 2023

My big project for the year was my Beautification event here at James Monroe High School. Our goal was to clean up and beautify the campus as best we can. The students painted some rocks and mini pots to either take home and give to a relative or place it somewhere on campus. They cleaned up all areas of the school, planted some trees around campus. Another school event that I held was Cinco De Mayo where we celebrated by playing musical chairs, Folklorico dance and had the band playing, we also gave away lots of candy to students who participated during our lunch time event.

The student's were really excited and happy about participating in the multiple events I had such as the mother's day writing event, wellness selfcare Wednesday, and Cinco de Mayo. While doing the beautification event and cleaning up the campus/planting trees the students and parents felt like they were contributing into making the school a better place. The students felt more invested in the school as a whole and felt more excited about school and doing their best. Some future projects for next year would be another beautification event, and more wellness/self care events.”

With gratitude,
