  • Special Education Carnival Incentives

    Funded Jun 13, 2024

Thank you for helping our school community make a fun filled day! This year, we used our donations to provide fun incentives for our hard working students. For Halloween, students were able to earn not just hygiene kits to support their workplace skills development, but also carnival snacks like cotton candy and snow cones. Our students and staff were over joyed and felt valued to have earned a fun day filled with carnival incentives. Halloween was a fun event, thanks to your donations. It is important to show thanks and makes our students feel valued in our school community to foster learning and enhance motivation.”

Thank you for providing our classroom with colorful ink to create amazing projects! Because of your support we are now able to print in color to support our academic goals. Students were able to print their projects and teachers are now able to create colorful interactive bulletin boards. As a teacher, being provided with colored ink for our colored printers is extremely important. It allows educators to use color to support students with disabilities learning goals. In our classroom, ink has been used to create student projects and print class pictures.”

  • Self-care for Mental Health

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Thank you donors for your generosity. Without your support our students would not have recieved such a lovely gift. Seeing the smiles on our students faces is what brings me great joy. As a special education high school we want our students to feel valued, important and fresh at all times. As teenagers, we understand that workplace behavior and presentation matters. By providing each student with their own hygiene kit they feel more motivated to tackle the work study environment. Educators, parents and students all value the great support that donorschoose has continuously provided us with.”

Thank you for supporting our classroom. We are a vocational based high school so learning may appear a bit different but totally needed! Our students take part in a home economics like setting where they learn how to cook, sew, iron, clean for daily living skills. But they also learn job related skills and practice tasks such as wood shop, data entry on the computer job tasks, consumer service jobs plus many many more! With your kind donation we can explain the jobs in our lab and students can even learn how to compete laundry related tasks, learn to cook simple meals for lunch and breakfast and have the essential tools they need to make the lab not only a fun but safe and engaging setting”

  • Bingo Spells Fun for Special Education

    Funded Jun 16, 2024

Thank you for supporting our school community! Your generosity has allowed our students to learn that hard work does pay off with fun incentives. An organized game event with fun prizes not only promote social-emotional learning but also makes our students feel loved and valued, by their school community, peers and teachers.

Bingo promotes many transferable learning skills as well, such as the ability to follow directions in written and verbal form, the ability to follow chronological order, step by step directions, numeric awareness, letter recognition and self advocacy skills.

Students love shouting Bingo! And feel a sense of pride that they not only paid attention during a fun and interactive game event but they were also able to advocate for themselves and announce they have won.”
