  • One Can Never Have Too Many Books!

    Funded Dec 10, 2024

Thank you for providing my classroom with more books! Through gifts like yours, I have been able to build up my classroom library. But, even more importantly, I have been able to help my students build their personal libraries. I believe ever child (and adult) should have their own collection of books.

Several times during the year, I offer students the chance to win prizes. These students managed to keep track of their pencil for more than a month in our Great Pencil Challenge. Currently, students are working on a Reading Bingo challenge. Some of these books will be prizes.”

  • Welcome To The Renaissance

    Funded Dec 15, 2024

Thank you for helping me introduce my 5th grade students to the Renaissance. I wore the Renaissance dress on the first day of the unit. I greeted each student with a curtesy—-requested they bow or curtesy when entering. (We also asked our principal and any other visitor to do the same!!)

We used the canvas art boards to represent the ceiling of the Sistene Chapel (the bottom of our desks). We experienced sculpture by carving the ivory soap with the tools included in our project.

When we return from Spring break next week, we will start reading A Midsummer Nights Dream—where I will introduce the fairies (elf ears) and the donkey head hat will represent Puck's prank.

    Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Donahue

  • Tie-Dyed Service

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

Thank you for supporting our students! Nearly half of my 60 5th grade students chose to participate in our after school tie dye club.

First we researched types of patterns. Then we learned how to tie, dye, and rinse our items. When we finished, we made signs to advertise our tie dye sale during the Math and Science Night.

Students raised $237 that night. The money was given to a local organization: Roswell Community Disaster Relief which supports people impacted by homelessness and disasters. In fact, about the time we started, our community experienced a "once in a century" flood. Over 1000 homes were impacted or destroyed—including at least one of our club members.

We still have many items to sell. And, all of our 5th graders will be tie dying our shirts for graduation in May.

Thank you for helping us learn this skill and help our community.”

  • Fresh Start

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for providing essentials for my classroom! My students love sitting on floor (or a pillow) and using the lap trays to do their work. Thanks for allowing me to offer this to more students. You have no idea how many items in my classroom need batteries! Thanks to your gift, I can power them all up!

Thank you for making my students a priority. Thank you for making my job just a little bit easier. Your generosity is so appreciated. Every time my students use the lap trays, they remember that a stranger somewhere cared enough to give to our classroom.”

  • Starting Off the New Year with Supplies

    Funded Jun 6, 2024

Thank you for helping me start the school year off well! Over the summer, I was able to fill each pencil box with an assortment of tools including pencils, highlighters, and dry erase markers.

The pencils (I never have enough pencils!!) are a huge help! The various sizes sticky notes are a huge help.

Many of my parents are not able to provide basic school supplies, and this gives me a chance to make sure they have what they need.

Thank you for investing in the lives of my students. Your gift helps make”
