Let Me Play in the Sand!

Finally our school is open, and one of the most exciting moments was when the students saw the sandbox open and ready.

The moment the kids saw the huge, green box, they ran towards it and, with fascination, said: "It has real sand", "can we play with it?"

I have students who immediately grabbed tools and buckets and started playing. Other students played with the trucks and built roads for them. There were also students who simply enjoyed the feeling of having sand in their hands. There was a girl, whom while touching the sand said "eew", but she couldn't stop touching the sand. It was beautiful to see the children have different experiences with such a versatile play piece. Even one of my youngest students stood there watching what the others were doing.
