Literacy Professional Development
Funded Jun 29, 2023Thank you so much for your incredible generosity! I feel so lucky to have been able to take part in this literacy professional development over the summer. I was able to take a refresher on the previous OG training I received and also learn some new information through trainings and new instructional books to be able to support my students' reading and writing development.
This has already helped better inform my teaching this year, and has allowed me to support my students at all reading levels. I am also able to go back and review the information from the videos in the trainings for a few months, and use the instructional books regularly to plan lessons. These resources have been incredibly helpful as I've prepared lessons over the last month and a half and will continue to be great resources as I plan future reading lessons. I am so grateful for all of the support, thank you!”

Snacks for Students
Funded Apr 22, 2023We received all of our snacks - thank you so much for your generous donations! My students have been enjoying the snacks everyday and are grateful for the support in making this happen.
Students have been using the snacks to prepare our snack table daily (as shown in one of the photos) for community snack. Because we now have a supply of snacks that should last us to the end of the year, the class has been able to continue to benefit from our snack procedure. Students seem more focused and connected as a community as a result of a little extra nourishment, short break from work and socialization time they have at the snack table.
It is wonderful to see the class enjoying this time together and growing as a community. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom!”

Aquarium Supplies
Funded Feb 4, 2023Our classroom aquarium is all set up and we've added our fish! All of the materials we received have been so helpful and the tank looks beautiful. My students were so excited to see the aquarium once it was all ready. We have seven cichlids and one plecostomus. It is such a nice addition to our classroom!
Throughout the school day, my students like to observe the fish and talk to each other about the different interactions and behaviors they see. Many of them have also been brainstorming names for the fish as well. Students have also shown interest in learning how to take care of the fish and the aquarium. Through these conversations, collaborations and the development of responsibility, I have seen our classroom community strengthen. It is lovely to see how the class has taken ownership of the aquarium and how this has helped them strengthen their connections to one another as well.
I look forward to using the aquarium to work on science lessons where we will explore fish and other types of animals and habitat. The interest the class has shown in learning more about the fish will also spark new research projects as well. The many benefits of the aquarium have already had such a positive impact on our classroom. Thank you for all of the donations and support!”
