Academy for Personal Leadership and Excellence Baseball
Funded Jan 16, 2025Thank you so much for your incredible generosity. Thanks to your support, our students now have access to baseball equipment that is not only of high quality but also a game-changer in terms of equity. For about 90% of our students, this is their first opportunity to play baseball, and the excitement in the air when they saw the new gear was indescribable. You could see their faces light up as they held the equipment and ripped open the boxes the first time.
One of the first projects we did was a team-building drill, where students learned the fundamentals of the game and were able to practice in a way that felt professional and real. We practiced running bases and complimenting each other with words and high fives. Building that team chemistry. Not only are they learning the skills of the game, but they're also building teamwork, confidence, and a sense of belonging—something that many of them have never experienced before. As we move forward, we'll be starting our official baseball season, where these resources will help them take their skills to the next level, fostering a deeper love for the game and for what they can achieve as a team.
Your donation is truly making a difference, and I can't wait to share more milestones with you as we continue this journey. Thank you for giving our students the gift of baseball and equity.”

Funded Aug 22, 2023Looking ahead, our focus is on building on these positive experiences. As we have five 8th graders graduating, we are actively preparing them for the high school application process. Simultaneously, we are committed to supporting the remaining students, emphasizing not only academic achievements but also instilling a sense of accountability and honing their skills. Your support has set the foundation for a brighter academic journey for these students, and we are eager to continue this positive momentum.”

Funded Feb 13, 2023As a baseball program with the mission of empowering our student-athletes through leadership, family, fun, and craft mastery, the new resources that our donors provided have made a significant impact on our students. The equipment, specifically designed for indoor training, has enabled our players to practice effectively and keep them engaged, having fun, and learning even when we have to stay indoors, especially during winter. We have been able to conduct drills, simulate game scenarios, and work on our techniques, which has helped our players improve their skills and overall performance.
The students were thrilled when they first saw the new materials. As you can see from the photos, they were super excited, especially since our donors got us what we needed in one day! Their enthusiasm and excitement were infectious, and it motivated them to work harder and strive to improve their game. The new equipment not only provided them with the necessary resources but also boosted their morale, making them feel that their efforts and hard work were valued and appreciated.
Moving forward, we plan to continue improving our program and provide the best resources possible to aid our students in their journey. For our 8th grade graduates, the next steps are to continue creating a safe environment for them to come back as alumni and be a resource to our incoming students. Our program will always be a place for our alumni to come back and feel at home. For our 7th and 6th graders, we will continue to focus on improving our program and resources so that our students, many of whom are international, can have the best possible experience. The new equipment is a critical component of this plan, as it provides our students with the resources they need to learn and grow as baseball players and individuals. Thank you!!!”
