The Magic of Sensory Exploration

When the students saw the classroom, their eyes lit up and they went right to their favorite items that they found. Having a sensory room with items that will fulfill my students' needs is having a substantial impact on their schooling. My students utilize the sensory room 3 times a day to have their sensory needs met.

When my students return to the classroom following sensory time, their bodies and minds are more calm and we are seeing an increase in academic time and work. Their bodies are able to now sit for longer periods of time, and they are able to utilize the sensory room if they start to feel overwhelmed from their day.”
