Hair Goes Nothing

I wanted to start by saying thank you for your generous donation this year. Due to your generosity my students were able to utilize a plethora of materials to start their own student-led elective. I was able to teach my students the basic skills of braiding, painting nails, self care and more. Students were also able to participate in facials, tie dyeing and other fun activities.

Students were ecstatic when it was time to pick up the various packages. Their faces lit up as they ripped open the hair dryer, uv light and mannequins. They were grateful to unwrap the packages and were ready to dive into the materials. The word around school spread and soon students from all grades wanted to participate in cosmetology class. Due to the influx in participants we had to lock the club down at 25 members.

Next year I hope to use the materials that we already gathered to inspire students to add to our collection. I am hoping to take a step back and give my students full autonomy over the lessons as well as the materials. My students and I are so grateful that you gave us the opportunity to learn new skills as well as take care of themselves and others. Thank you again for your love and support! We would not have been able to do it without you!”
