Sensory Destress Items
Funded Jan 11, 2024A heartfelt thank you for providing me with amazing sensory and positive reinforcement items for my students. The sensory items have helped me support students with de-escalating behaviors. I have been able to give some students these items to use independently to help them remain engaged in class or destress. Some of the students that I support also earn these items as reinforcement after counseling sessions or evaluations. They seem to truly enjoy the manipulatives.
The stickers have helped encourage students from giving up during evaluations or counseling. Grades K-3rd especially enjoy receiving stickers as reinforcement. Some students know where I keep the sensory items and request them when they stop by my room. They ask for squishy, balls, slinkys, or the water timer during their breaks.
It may seem small, but these items are truly making a difference!”

Funded Feb 6, 2023I would like to extend my deepest thank you to you for providing me with the resources to be able to help my students with their social emotional needs. Since setting up my calm corner, I have had many students use the corner to help them calm down when they are upset, sad, or when they are having a meltdown.
I have been able to utilize the A Little Spot books to help them overcome their challenges and they love sitting on the sensory rug. When they first saw the changes in my room, many of the students were surprised and excited. They asked to sit on the rug and browsed through the books. Some have shared in advance the book they would like me to read to them when they come back.
I hope to make my room more inviting to my students and in particular to students in special education. I am slowly creating a safe space for them and want to gather more sensory items to help the special education students de-escalate and help manage their sensory related behaviors. It is still a work in progress, but I would not have gotten this far without your donations and all your support.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Campo
