Calming Area

Thank you for providing Room 31 with the materials needed to create a calming area. The calming area in our classroom has become one of the most favorite spaces in our classroom. The calming area has allowed my students to recognize when they need time to de escalate or just a couple of minutes to themselves to regulate their emotions and allow them to have a successful day of learning, The second day of school one of my students came to school feeling upset, he immediately entered the the quiet space and sat on the mats, he picked up the Liquid Motion Bubblers and placed them in front of him. He spent around 10 minutes just staring at motion in these sensory toys. He then came out and told me he felt better and ready to learn. Now that we are in our second month of school more students are feeling more comfortable using the quiet space to regulate their feelings. This type of resource has made a major impact in my classroom thank you so much.”
