It is very important to me that the literature in our classroom is reflective of the languages and cultures of the students I have in my classroom. When a child is able to connect to a book it can make them feel much more comfortable and safe.

  • Preschool Cozy Corner: Social Emotional Supplies

    The cozy corner is one of the most important parts of my classroom. it is the space students can go when they are feeling sad, tired, or just need a little space. It is an amazing social emotional tool that helps students self regulate and think about their emotions.

    Something as simple as a rug and some pillows has a huge impact on our classroom. My students are 3 and for many of them it is their first time coming to school. Having a welcoming, colorful classroom helps them to feel more comfortable and safe in our classroom environment!   • Colorful New Rug for Harlem, NYC Preschool Students

    Funded Apr 22, 2023

    This rug has been amazing for my classroom! It has added some much needed color into the classroom and helps keeps students engaged during our morning meeting! The students were so excited the first time they saw their old plain black rug, replaced with a new colorful rug. They enjoy pointing out the shapes, and the shapes also help them to space out evenly when they are sitting on the rug and dancing on the rug!

  • Stem Institute (Harlem) 3k Class

    These new supplies have been extremely helpful in our classroom. I wish you could have seen all of their little faces when we opened up the box with all of their new toys to play with.

    These games and activities have been helping to enrich their learning. Most of the donated supplies are used with students during their choice time, or center time. It has given them a lot more variety and options to choose from, which helps to keep them engaged. Their favorite items at the moment are the new baby and kitchen supplies for our dramatic play area!

    Our students have made SO MUCH progress this year on their academic, social emotional, and overall developmental goals. We really appreciate your helping hands in our success!”
