Welcome/Bienvenidos 2024-2025
Funded Aug 14, 2024I would like to thank you all once again for the generous donations made in order to start the new school year on the right foot. Thanks to the supplies we were able to obtain, students' classrooms were able to be furnished with the supplies needed to aide in their learning of English as a new language. In addition, classroom settings were made to feel welcome for all who entered.
Since the beginning of the school year, students have had access to their English-Spanish dictionaries which has helped them tremendously in doing activities throughout all content areas. Other supplies have also been extremely helpful in the implementation of language supports for our English Language Learners.
Many thanks again for making our newcomers have the appropriate scaffolds to be one step closer in meeting their grade-level expectation goals. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cabrera

Funded Mar 30, 2023The teachers and students in our school community would like to thank you very much for your generosity. Thanks to your contribution, our students were able to engage in rich and genuine discussion in which they were able to reflect on a year of hard work, as well as be reminded to dream big and reach for the stars.
Students were able to listen to this book in English and Spanish, which meant so much to our predominantly bilingual community. A new school year has begun and we will have these amazing books for many years to come all thanks to you.”

A Generation of Change
Funded Feb 2, 2023Firstly, we'd like to thank our donors for their generosity towards this project. Thanks to your contribution, students in our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade classrooms were able to listen to the story and do an activity that involved discussions about how to make a change in our world as well as taking steps to beautify our school environment through the arts.
As many of you know, our Book of the Month is accessible to students and families beyond the classroom. This month we had our very own music teacher, Mr. McKoy, read the book aloud for all to hear. He is beloved by our school community and it was such a pleasure to hear the story read through his voice. Feel free to give it a listen on our school website!
Students truly enjoyed the story as well as the conversations on how to impact the world and make a change. It can start with one person, but one person can inspire a group of people to make a change as well. What a wonderful lesson to learn.
Thank you again for your contribution and your support of our readers!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cabrera
Mentor Text for Making Friends
Funded Jan 19, 2023I wish you could hear the giggles and gasps as our students heard the book of the month read aloud today. Students in the 5th Grade Dual Language classroom heard the story in Spanish and were able to make incredible connections throughout the text.
After reading, we had meaningful conversations about the lessons we learned. One of the themes we mentioned was "one can always turn an enemy into a friend." What an important lesson to learn as our students grow in age, knowledge, and experience.
Once again, I'd like to thank every single one of our donors. Because of your contribution, students are one step closer to making friends.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cabrera
