Focus Tools for Success: Supporting Students with Fidget Toys
Funded Nov 9, 2024Thank you so much for funding this project and helping my students thrive in their computer-based classes! When the fidget toys arrived, my students were excited and curious, immediately exploring how each one worked. Many shared how the tools helped them feel calmer and more focused while working on Edgenuity, our independent learning program. One student even completed an entire module without needing a break, proudly attributing their success to the new fidget tool.
These resources have transformed our classroom environment by providing a productive outlet for students who struggle with focus or stress. The fidget toys are helping my students stay engaged, confident, and motivated to tackle their lessons. Help Support Student Wellness Through Nature in the Classroom!
Funded Aug 19, 2024My students are checking the progress of the plants everyday. We added little shrimp family to the tank. It helps my students feel connected more to nature and they feel more involved as they were the ones to decide on the plants, set the tank, feed the shrimps, fertilize and water the plants. They have total ownership of the green project! When my students are taking a break from their screens, they are attached to this corner of my classroom.

Calming Area
Funded Feb 7, 2023Thanks to your generous donation, our continuation high school has experienced a remarkable transformation in our mindfulness practices. The resources you provided, including small sofa couches and pleasant lighting, have allowed us to create a dedicated space for origami in one classroom. There was a need for the psychiatric social worker's room to have a comfortable space so that students can participate in circles and workshops, so the chairs went into that space. When our students first saw the materials, their excitement was palpable, and they eagerly embraced the opportunity to explore origami on the cozy couches under the soothing lighting.
When my students are done with their classwork, some students prefer working on their origami skills, and they've told me that it feels relaxing to work with their hands.
It's fostering a sense of accomplishment for my students. The comfortable seating and inviting atmosphere have created a safe space where our students feel comfortable expressing their emotions and engaging in open discussions.
With your ongoing support, we plan to expand our mindfulness practices further. We are in the process of inviting guest speakers to share their expertise in mindfulness techniques. Your contribution has made a significant impact on our students' socioemotional well-being, and we are immensely grateful for your support in creating an environment that promotes growth, positivity, and self-expression.
