Calming Area

Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom's calming center! My students were absolutely thrilled each time a new box arrived to the classroom. We spent a day organizing the new supplies ,setting up our area, and explaining what the materials were and how to use them appropriately.

We also discussed why having a specific area in the classroom to go to when we are experiencing big feelings is great asset to our classroom environment. Since setting up this area, I have had many students use the area to regulate their feelings and take a break from overwhelming situations. They are so proud to display the work they have created and come back to the larger classroom setting when they are ready.”
