Enhance STEAM Education Through Technology
Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you so much for your donations. Your generosity means so much to us and to the children we serve. Thank you for choosing to donate to Early Childhood Education and be part of helping our school stand out in our community. The inspire panel has a software program called Explorations. It contains 10 activities in which children explore, express their creativity, and improve their cognitive development. The math bubbles is one of the children's favorite activities. This activity helps children learn math concepts such as counting, sorting, classifying, adding, subtracting, and grouping.
Each classroom has a designated day to go to the STEAM Lab. During the last hour of the program the rest of the children go to the STEAM Lab to end their day. The inspire panel is the students first choice to use when they get to use the centers. Students that are new to the school are eager to use the inspire paneI. In addition, students enjoy to use the measuring activity and they count while they slide the counters up. We are glad that we got this software and that students are eager to use it. So we thank you for your generous donation. It was well worth it and we cannot wait to see how many students in this community will get to experience it.”

Funded Jan 11, 2023Thank you so much for funding our calming area. They children have the cuddly puppy weighted lap pad in the quiet area. Children enjoy grabbing the puppy and placing it on their lap while they read a book or use the iPad. The calming cuddle ball is also placed in the quiet cube. Students often reach for the cuddle ball, insert their arms around the ball and go for a big squeeze. We are teaching children self regulation and the quiet area has different tools like the mindful breathing board, and the find your feelings emotion slider. After showing the students how to use these tools, they pick up the slider and go around the classroom and ask children how they are feeling. This tool give them the opportunity to express their emotions in a fun way.
My students were so excited to see new toys and materials in the quiet area. They could not wait to begin using the cuddly puppy. In the manipulative area we have placed playdough and the feeling emotion mats. The students enjoy grabbing the mats and creating new faces. When they begin creating an emotion, I ask them open-ended questions about how we can help students when they are feeling sad or angry. Lastly, the Alfabreaths books has been a great addition to our library. My students enjoyed trying the different methods to breath and relax their body.”
