Thank you so much for contributing to Ms. Maggie's Speech Students! I was able to purchase many supplies including books and adapted materials to support my students' literacy goals📚

Because my autistic students prefer to learn with visuals, I was able to create specific supports based on their preferences and goals. Students were able to remove visuals from the book, use visual boards with line drawn picture symbols and written words, and have isolated pictures to target vocabulary. This helped learners who are nonspeaking, learning to respond to comprehension questions, and working on retelling stories.

These activities have helped my students attend to books at home and be able to participate more in class. Parents and teachers have been thrilled with the progress shown after these students have had the types of visuals that support their learning styles.”
