Exploring the Land of Stories!

Thank you so much for donating to our project. Starting in January our entire 3rd grade level (8 classrooms) started reading "The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell". Our goal was to read the book and at the end we would have a ball to celebrate.

Being able to give each student a copy of the book to hold in their hands while we read every day was amazing. We would come in after lunch, pass out the books, the students would read along as I read it out loud. Having the books in their hands gave them the ability to go back and re-read if necessary. Over the course of a few months we read the book and the students were 100% invested in the story. We had some wonderful conversations because of this book. When we held the Ball, students dressed up as characters from the book and it was so much fun!

Here we are a couple of months later, and several students have asked if they borrow a copy because the want to read the story again! I feel very lucky to be able to give my students this experience as a result of the generosity of the donors.”
