Safe Space for Your Emotions
Funded Dec 13, 2024I want to thank you all for for the donations that were made for my students. Students have additional supplies when it comes to reading and coloring when they need to de-escalate. Now students are able to enjoy a variety of coloring pages.
Students were able to notice that my class room was alot more organized and it made it easier to access the material that was needed with the cubies received. Since my classroom is a shared room it made it difficult to organize the material for students. Student have also been enjoying the snacks that they get to enjoy when meeting with me.
I will conitnue to keep this room nice and organize and try my best to ensure that I have the materials that will be beneficial for students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Montoya
Calming Items
Funded Mar 10, 2023Thank you so much for the contributions that have been made. I am in a shared classroom therefore I have limitations for storage space. I needed a space where I can store material for students such as arts and crafts and board games. I also was able to provide my student with a small area with social emotional learning books.
Student appreciated that there was material available at hand. Students were also excited to look over the few books that I obtained where they were able to learn ablut emotions and how to manage emotions.
I would like to continue building in my storage space and adding more books of different grade levels. I also want this space to feel cozy and safe.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Montoya
Calming Area
Funded Feb 9, 2023I would like to express my gratitude to the number of items that have been donated to my student. Student now have a space where they can feel comfortable and de-escalate when needed.
Students were extremely excited to see that they had a space with bean bags and with sensory items to help them. For many students it was the first time that student get a safe space. My school is located in a low-income area; therefore, it feels amazing to provide a space at school that might not be available at home.
I would like to continue building on the calming space as I know that what one sensory item might work for a couple students, but it does not mean it works for all. Therefore, I want to ensure that I am equipped to effectively serve all students with their needs.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Montoya
