Creative Builders
Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you for your support in funding our Creative Builders project. These materials have opened the door in creative play and collaboration. The students frequently use the materials when the class work is complete and there is additional time before transitioning. By having a variety of STEM materials, the kids can pick and choose what to use and what to build.
Furthermore, having these materials available has given the choice to use the iPads less and build with their hands more. The most popular materials are the Magna Tiles and the kinetic sand. When we have indoor recess due to inclement weather, these two bins are always being used.
The best part of having these materials in class is the building of interpersonal skills. Kids who play together have to learn to work together. This is a lifetime skill that builds character and kindness. Thank you for letting my students have this opportunity and continue to grow.”

Funded Mar 31, 2023I am touched by the generosity you expressed to my class kids when funding the art portfolio project. This project taught the kids many things. One important lesson was that each students' artwork was important and cherished. Everyone had artwork ranging from our beginning of the year award pictures to monthly self portraits completed in art class. The kids also learned the elements of art and had examples of work representing each element. All of this work went into the portfolios.
Another lesson that the kids gained were organizational skills. My students kept track of their work by organizing it by the month that they completed it. There was a sense of accomplishment when the art table was clean and the work was organized in the art portfolios. At the end of the school year, the kids spent some time relishing what they accomplished in art class and other school projects. Parents also expressed appreciation for the care that showed when the art portfolios were used.
Thank you again for your generosity and the impact this project had on budding artists!”

Flexible Seating for Active Third Graders
Funded May 10, 2023I can't thank you enough for your generosity in my flexible seating request. It has literally made a world of difference for my kids in class.
In the past, I didn't have a comfortable place for kids to work. They could move to other tables to work but no place was really that inviting. Now, the kids will routinely grab a cushion or a lap desk seat and sit on the big rug close to the screen. Not only can they see better and listen closer, they have the comfort of sitting by their friends. Their focus is better, they are learning how to collaborate while in a small group (if that's our activity) and they are responsible for putting items away correctly. It is a highlight of their day to sit together and work!
Thank you again for your thoughtful gift to my class kids and the positive impact of comfortable, flexible seating. It really has made a difference for learning!”
