Real World Math
Funded Jan 11, 2023I really cannot express in words how the materials I received from Donors choose impacted my students and their engagement in my classroom. The level of participation increased dramatically from students on all levels. My students all juniors were excited like elementary students when the materials arrived to our classroom. The students were curious and exicted to explore and learn using the materials to practice higher level math skills.
My students before receiving the materials came to class daily with no interest in the math lessons I was presenting daily. After receiving the materials students would come to class and begin exploring the materials and engaging in math conversations before class started. They developed a sense of pride about their math class and learning skills they used to have no interest in learning.
Learning became real to my students with each activity we performed with the materials. They just seemed pleased that some one cared to provide them with hands on materials to learn math. My classes grade averages improved and their math ACT scores. My classes really appreciated the math materials and really enjoyed making real math models with all the geometric shapes and models. They like most students from their backgrounds really appreciated and enjoyed all the snacks. It was a welcoming snack for many students that missed breakfast. Thank you so much for helping make a positive impact on so many students at Southwood High School.”
With gratitude,

Funded Feb 9, 2023My heart is busting with excitement from your donations to help me supply resources for my students during Black History Month. I truly feel this is extra super manner to help my students continue the legacy of famous African mathematicians, improve ACT scores and celebrate Black History at their school.”
With gratitude,
