Diverse Reads For Teens
Funded Nov 28, 2023I want to express my sincere thanks for your support towards our classroom library project on Donors Choose. Your contributions have made a significant difference by providing our students with a variety of new independent reading books, enriching their learning experiences in meaningful ways.
The addition of these books has introduced valuable skills and lessons to my students. They're learning to analyze texts, make connections, and explore diverse perspectives, which are crucial skills for their academic and personal growth.
In our classroom, reading is an integral part of our daily routine. The new books have been eagerly embraced by my students, who now have more choices and opportunities to engage with literature. It's heartening to see them actively participating in independent reading time and sharing their excitement about the stories they've discovered.
I'm particularly pleased to observe the positive impact on certain students who have found renewed interest in reading. For example, one student who previously struggled with finding books of interest, has now found enjoyment in exploring different genres and authors. This shift reflects the tangible difference your generosity has made in their reading habits and attitudes.
Thank you once again for your support and belief in the importance of literacy education. Your contributions have helped create a more vibrant reading environment for our students, and we are truly grateful for your help!”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you again for your support of our nation's future. I am elated to bring more books to my students with your generous help. It is so encouraging as an educator to know you and your students are supported by caring people. One of my favorite aspects of my work as an ELA teacher is seeing children enthusiastic about reading and your help has made that possible!
While books are necessary for any school, in the hands of a child who has limited access to books at home, it can be a symbol of the power of education. I know my students will be excited to have these wonderful novels for independent reading time.”

Funded Jun 6, 2020This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. I was so excited when I saw the boxes arrive. As I opened them and began to inventory all of the new amazing titles that would be entering my classroom library, I felt overwhelmed. I knew how excited my students were going to be. The books that you donated has helped my students get engaged during independent reading. In fact, it's my new problem is going to be getting them to stop reading when it's time to change activities!
Before I even had a chance to inventory the books and get them into the library, students were already clamoring around me, trying to be the first to borrow a certain title. Your generous donations have helped to revitalize our classroom library and bring new passion to the student's independent reading time. Thank you for your generosity.”

Funded Feb 24, 2020Reading is the key to so many doors. Future success can be built on a love of reading. It is the reason I work so hard to keep my library full of books the students will want to devour. Just today my class had a conversation (related to a book I'm reading) about students who are "wild about reading" and those who aren't, and why! I was thrilled to find out that our project was funded and can't wait to help my students get their hands on these books!
Thank you very much for your donation to this project. With so many great titles, series and authors out there today, it's nice to know that there are generous people like you, who are willing to help me get some of the most current books into the hands of my students!

Funded Jun 17, 2017This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. I was so excited when I saw the boxes arrive.
My class is very excited to being reading Animal Farm. They love discussing real world topics in our English class, and are going to be amazed at the connections we will make between Orwell's novel and current events. Through "Four legs good, two legs bad," they will understand the purpose of phrases like "Build a wall." Through "Jones will come back" we will be able to understand fear tactics that lead to things like travel bans. We are going to explore the roles of the sheep as well in the destruction of society. They will be able to analyze the development of hate through propaganda. By understanding hate we will be taking the first step to its destruction.
Without your donation, these explorations would not have been possible. Thank you for your generosity.”
