  • Let's Get Clubbin', LEGO Clubbin' that Is...

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of LEGO building materials, which made it possible for me to start a LEGO club within speech and language therapy sessions for my students. Your support has created an engaging and meaningful space where students can develop essential skills while having fun. Through building and collaborating, they have learned valuable lessons in patience, turn-taking, and problem-solving—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

This club has also been an incredible opportunity for students to strengthen their communication skills. And, wow, were they excited when they saw the materials! As they describe their creations, explain their ideas, and work through challenges together, they are building confidence in their ability to express themselves. None of this would have been possible without your kindness and generosity. Thank you for making such a difference in their learning journey!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Giangrande

  • Picture It: A Sensory Oasis for Students with ADHD/Anxiety

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your donations and support for our 'Sensory Oasis.' In the time that the student's have had access to these materials, they have been able to better understand their sensory preferences and needs and are learning to utilize these tools to get themselves from high or low energy zones to a ready-to-learn state. My abiltiy to offer them adaptive seating in the form of a shag rag and bean bag with a clipboard has increased compliance in session and their overall output. The degree to which these changes have support the students can not be understated... it is because of you that these children are making gains in literacy and overall comprehension in their speech sessions.”

  • Help Provide Tools to Empower Struggling Readers in Speech Therapy

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

On behalf of our school's speech and language department, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support through DonorsChoose. Your generous contributions are making a profound difference in the lives of our middle school students, many of whom face significant barriers to learning due to the combined effects of socioeconomic challenges, extended time out of school during the COVID-19 pandemic, and rising diagnoses of ADHD and Autism. Your donation is helping us address critical gaps in literacy skills, ensuring that our students receive the individualized support they need to thrive academically and socially.

With your help, we were able to provide targeted resources and interventions that are vital to bridging the achievement gap, like index cards, stenobooks, and colored strips to support reading. These resources will directly impact the students who need them most, offering tailored strategies and materials to foster their language development, improve their literacy, and support their overall educational success. Your investment in their future is not just a gift, but a powerful tool in helping these students overcome the challenges they face and unlock their full potential. Thank you for being a part of this important work and for giving our students the opportunity to succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Giangrande

  • Support Communication Skills @ BEES!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

I am writing to express my gratitude for your recent contribution to my speech-language therapy materials. Your generous donation of funds to cover the cost of materials for articulation therapy has been an incredible help to me and my students. Several of my clients were able to fix their lisps and erred sound productions with my ability to complete a proper oral motor exam using my new gloves, tongue depressors, and sensory tools to regulate them during session.

In addition, the reading comprehension practice passages I was able to provide to my students was the perfect solution to finding materials on their skill level about current events and topics that are interesting to middle schoolers.

Your generosity has touched me deeply, and I want you to know how much your donation means to me and my staff at BEES. Your kindness and support will have a lasting impact on the lives of those who come to me for speech-language therapy.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Giangrande
