Lounges for Learning
Funded Mar 27, 2024Thank you for your generosity and donating flexible seating options for my class. When the boxes arrived, the children cheered and were so excited to find new places around the room to do their independent work.
Many of them were able to sit during whole class lessons and focus better than they had before. They were so much more comfortable, I could see the impact in their learning right away. Others were able to use these seats to find private learning spaces around the room, away from other students and distractions. They were able to finish their assignments more regularly
We appreciate all of your support to make this happen! Thank you.”

White Boards for Phonics
Funded Jan 3, 2024Thank you for your generosity and supplying my students with white boards and pens. The children were so excited when the box arrived! We opened it during a class meeting and they were so excited to have fresh, new whiteboards. They cheered and couldn't wait for the next phonics lesson to try them out!
We used them every day to practice phonics and even some days to practice math. You can see in the pictures, students practicing new ways to spell vowel teams and writing words. What you can not see is that in this class, there are both English speaking students and Spanish speaking students learneing together.
Children also used the pens to transfer their phonics work into writing about their own ideas. You can see in the attached pictures a writing sample about the beach. This was written by a student who came to class only speaking Spanish. She was so proud of this piece of writing she did in English. This is due to the supplies you gave us that we were able to use to support learning phonics each day. Thank you for all you have done for us!”

Lounges for Learning Part 2
Funded Aug 14, 2024Thank you for your generosity and support for my students. This gift will help children to find spaces in the classroom that allow them to be comfortable and productive in their learning and work. This will also teach them how to make choices in the future for creating optimal learning environments for themselves as they get older and more independent. We are so grateful!”

Funded May 8, 2023Thank you for your generous gift of iPads. We started using them last school year when many children arrived in class from South America. Children were able to have iPad time to settle into the routines and expectation of their new classroom. They played letter and number games to help them learn these concepts in English.
They are now in second grade and are flourishing in their new classes. Their 2nd grade teachers have reported that they are learning phonics and math along with the rest of their classmates. I see them in the hall and after school and one in particular is having full conversations with me in English. One day she told me all about a story that she is writing in English! It is so exciting to see their progress.
In this current school year, we are still using the iPad to support my new students who have arrived from South America as well. Children are using them to play games to support and supplement the phonics and math work in class and to help them learn their letters and sound in English. They are having so much fun! Your gift has brought them such joy in their learning.”
