  • Language Learning Library

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

    Our students have had several significant moments around this project. We took a few classes to build and design the library and select books with the support of our librarian. Our students have a moment to read every day for 15 minutes which has made a great impact on their reading skills.

    They have been very excited to see that the community supports their education and when they saw the materials, they took ownership of the project.

    The next steps are to encourage those students who have not yet engaged with the reading project.”

  • All We Need

    It has been of great help having snacks and supplies for our students everyday in class. We offer students what we call coffee break where they can enjoy some drinks and snacks as we want to make sure our students' basic needs are met.

    Also, we have used the supplies in most of our lessons. We are constantly teaching topics that require hands-on activities in which students have draw or design something. Our favorite part was to see their reaction when the saw the supplies and snacks as they were not expecting them. They were really motivated thinking that the community believes in them and their learning.

  • Projecting Lives

    I would like to start by thanking the donors for this great contribution to our classroom. This donation has had a huge impact on how we conduct lessons and specially on student ownership of their learning process.

    At the beginning of the school year, we only counted with an old projector that offer blurry images and would malfunction every now and then, this delayed the different activities and we had to turn into more individual tasks when we wanted to have a more collaborative and student center class.

    With this new projector, students have shown more engagement and participation in our lessons which has shown better results academically and in attendance.
