  • Steps Toward Serenity: Enhancing Classroom Well-being

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Incorporating an aerobic stepper, yoga mats and blocks in our classroom with my high school special need students has had a positive impact on their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Every other Friday, after lunch, I teach independent life skills with the focus on "leisure". We take active "brain breaks" and participate in quick aerobic stepper exercises or stretching sessions and use the yoga mats and blocks for guided relaxation or breathing exercises.

There may be other situations that may arise throughout the school day that might require use of these exercise equipment/tools, such as when a student might benefit from a mindful movement to establish emotional balance. Your wonderful generosity provides my students with physical, mental and emotional benefits. In addition, it helps with their behavior and academics. Great feeling overall!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marin

  • Zen Zone: Cultivating Calm in the Classroom

    Funded Sep 1, 2024

I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of yoga mats, seat cushions, and STEM Sensory Blocks. Your contribution plays an essential role in helping me incorporate mental health awareness and promote independent living skills among my students with special needs. With your support, I am now able to introduce activities that foster mindfulness, emotional well-being, and relaxation in the classroom; tools that are invaluable in their personal growth and development.

Your kindness is making a lasting impact in the lives of my students, empowering them with skills that will help them navigate challenges with confidence. The yoga mats, seat cushions, and STEM Sensory Blocks are not just equipment, but a bridge toward building resilience and improving their quality of life.

Thank you for being a part of this important journey and for showing my students that their well-being is valued by our community.”

    Funded May 31, 2024

I am committed to providing my special need students with real work-life experiences that will develop their vocational skills for their futures as well as give them an opportunity in the competitive employment process. My students and I are filled with an enormous amount of gratitude for all the support we have been given. The attention our students have received will become their internal drive to learn and create with Cricut crafting accessories this school year.

Recently, after watching a craft blogger on you tube, my students used the Cricut Maker and sublimation printer with its accessories to make various projects. Vocational skills were applied throughout their entire project. The did such an amazing job! Your donations are truly appreciated and are put to great use!! With this being said, your donation has facilitated the process immensely towards my desired overall goal.

  • Sublimation Sparks in Classroom Cricut Work Station

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

The PYD sublimation oven was an excellent item to add to our classroom's workshop (aka, Marin's Masterminds Mill). My higher-functioning students with Intellectual disabilities and with Autism Spectrum had so much fun working on several projects (i.e., mug, keychains, tree ornaments) to gift to staff before the holidays winter break.

Besides following directions and paying attention to detail while showing teamwork, most importantly, they applied employability skills that they can apply later in their future as they enter the workplace. This would not have been possible without the admirable support from our donors. We are extremely grateful!”

  • Inner Movement of Energy: Sublimation Printing

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

I am passionate about providing various opportunities for my students with special needs that will allow them to explore and develop some vocational skills that they can use after graduation in the work world. With this being said, your donation has contributed to my desired goal.

When I first introduced the idea of having a Cricut Maker machine during our Career Education Services/Career classes, it was like switching on the light as I watched my special need students' faces show their excitement. Once I explained what it was, how it was used, and how we can apply it in our classroom, their level of curiosity expanded. They began to share their own project ideas. As if that wasn't enough, they also came up with the idea of creating a Cricut Maker Station in the classroom. This is how this project came about.

Recently, after watching a craft blogger on you tube, my students used the Cricut Maker and sublimation printer with its accessories to make a sublimation mug. We will continue to create more of this project as well as other crafts using sublimation. Vocational skills, were applied throughout their entire project. The did such an amazing job! Your donations are truly appreciated and are put to great use!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!”
