Fun Math Books!
Funded Oct 8, 2024Having these books in my classroom has had a tremendous impact. First and foremost, having the book "Math Games with Bad Drawings" has improved my practice. The games included are not obviously math games, but the strategizing and spacial reasoning translate to math pretty directly. And the pictures are fun!
The book with Math Minutes has also been impactful. Full of challenging yet accessible math questions, this book is full of minute long exercises to get students to work efficiently towards solving problems. It is great for spiral review. Most importantly, it taps into students' competitive nature - it always feels good to win!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 6 other donors.Strategic Games and Puzzles
Funded Jul 21, 2024Thank you again for donating to this project. My students have been working really hard on their curriculum tasks - learning about scale drawings, proportional relationships and all their representations, and discovering circles and the wonders of pi. But they also need breaks from these standards based activities to exercise other parts of their brains. Students were so excited to hear that we were having games and puzzles days! It allowed them to connect with each other in competition and spacial recognition and to work together towards a common goal. It also encourages joy and playfulness in the classroom!”

Inspirational Tokens
Funded Dec 2, 2023These inspirational tokens were fantastic for my students! They especially loved the rubber bracelets - students were trying to collect them all! Other students hoped for the tiny notebooks so they could keep track of their math work. And I felt it was important to share the stress balls with students who just needed a way to use up some energy. Most importantly, my students felt proud of the work they accomplished and sought that feeling over and over again.
Thank you again for your kind donation!”

Vocabulary Notebooks!
Funded Sep 20, 2023Our vocabulary notebooks have been a rousing success. Students are able to record and keep track of all the new and unfamiliar math terminology they come across during our class discussions. Every day, students take these notecards out of their backpacks and keep them on their desk for references. They flip through to double check their knowledge or pick up a pen to jot down clarifications and further examples. Students have been more prepared for assessments and their confidence is growing. And we couldn't have done it without you!!”
