Printer Time!
Funded May 7, 2023Thank you so very much for your generous donation! This printer has helped us immensely. Now, I am able to print for students activities in black and white and color! This is so important because our children are still hands on learners - no matter what age. By allowing them to have graphs to assist in research, they will learn in depth and more thoroughly.
I am also able to make on demand copies of medical records for children - as one copy goes to the nurse and the other they take back home. I am able to make copies of their schemes for them as well as absent notes. They are expired by this as now they don't have to bother the main office - which might be a busy and intimidating place for children.
In general, all my students benefit from the printer. It is especially helpful to my ENL (English New Learner) students. They have just recently come in to this country and having streets with translation on it helps them immensely.
Once again, thank you. Without donors like you, opportunities for ou”

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors and 3 other donors.Classroom Soundbar
Funded Dec 31, 2022Words cannot express how your generosity is helping my classes.
Students can now hear the educational videos that I show. Prior the sound-bar, they watched short clips that had to generate auto caption. The volume was present but barely audible.
When I first played a a video, my students were amazed. They felt as though they were actually in a theater. I showed them a clip on the Spanish American War. They felt as though they were actually in the battle! It was terrific!
My English New Language students particularly benefited from the videos. Many of them come from Central America and had to read the translation as the videos went. Now, they can hear the actual videos in their language instead of reading it. The sound-bar also keeps my students with attention deficit attentive.”

Classroom Technology
Funded Mar 6, 2023Words cannot begin to express how grateful I am to be able to recieve these tech devices from generous donors like you.
I am able to now conference with students with much more ease, as I go to their groups and show them (using the laptop) how to complete classwork or explain more in depth the topic they do not quite understand. I am able to show videos, graphic organizers, and sample writings of how they can complete their own work.
The laptop comes in very handy for one-to-one and small group (2-4 student) conferences as well. I am able to show them their current grade before the marking period is over. The children are then able to make up assignments they might have missed or needed improvement on.
The technology is also very helpful with connecting to the large Prometheon board in the classroom. I am able to teach to the whole class first, then break off into smaller groups so students work together.
These will continue to be a valuable asset as we are heading into testing season (state exams). I will be able to help kids find context clues, main ideas, cause and effect as well as other important skills when reading historical texts.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Varghese
