The Nutcracker Costume
Funded Oct 8, 2024We had an amazing show of The Nutcracker for the holiday season. Students created the playbill image to painting the set and helping cut the pieces for their costume. They even learned to sew for the very first time. It was most inspiring and eye opening for them to see all the work and process that goes into creating a stage production. Students got to feel they were part of a big stage production even if they don't like to be on stage. This helped build a great sense of community for them. Thank you for all your support and being part of our P.S. 01 community.”

S.T.E.A.M Project: Scribble Bot, Circuitry Art
Funded May 24, 2024Thank you for all you help in teaching my students about science. These are the images of students working on their Scribble bots project. They learned about the components needed to make a bot move and how to connect a motor with a power source. The next project they are working on is circuitry in greeting cards by making things light up. Students really enjoy the tangible way to understanding the basic of the things needed for a robot to be in motion.
Thank you again for all your contributions and support.”

Light Up Your Art
Funded Oct 2, 2023Thank you so much for your help in your contribution to the students at P.S.01.
The students enjoyed the lightbox and are developing their hand-eye coordination. This has helped them feel more confident in their drawing abilities and being able to get a project done. These tools have been much needed in many of their projects, from game design to animation, and creating collages. When the students get a chance to choose what they like to do, a lot of them like to practice drawing on the light box. Thank you so much for your support.”

Creating An Art Studio For Learning
Funded Apr 7, 2023Thank you for all your support. This space was in disarray and your contribution has helped better organize the room. Making it so much easier to manage for the students as well as their teacher. All the materials now have designated bins with labels and are stackable making better use of the small storage space of this room.
With everything organized, students can get things by themselves, gaining the comfort of the art room. Materials are better cataloged allowing teachers to make better decisions on what can be used for lessons.”

Kitchen Garden Club
Funded Feb 1, 2023Thanks to you, our students can learn how to grow their own foods. Students got to explore how to plant a seed and watch it grow and plant in their newly created vegetable garden. They learn to try new foods like radishes and enjoy the fruits of their labor. The materials will be enjoyed in all seasons as we continue to teach our students about the environment and how we interact with it.
With your help, we've provided our students with a beautiful garden for them to explore. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you!”
