Gross Motor and Movement
Funded Nov 28, 2023Through your generous contributions, the children have been able to develop and strengthen their gross motor skills. The materials and equipment provide endless opportunities to promote participation in activities that foster skills like walking, jumping, running, climbing, throwing, and kicking.
The children love gross motor time and with your materials we can provide them the opportunity to move both indoors and outdoors. These experiences are necessary, especially throughout a long day of learning in the classroom. They look forward to this time every day.
We appreciate your donation and your kindness as we work to help our children meet their developmental milestones. With the help of your materials, our children not on practice their gross motor skill but also develop their social-emotional skills, language, listening, and cognition.”

Ms. Ashley

Funded Mar 17, 2023We used the books bought with your generous donation to set boundaries and expectations, increase attention spans, build upon their background knowledge, and increase their vocabulary and comprehension.
We use circle time to introduce new books to help enhance our research-based curriculum. We call special attention to the illustrations and encourage discussion and conversation around the literacy components that are developmentally appropriate for infants and toddlers. Our children respond so well to books and often engage in exploring the books on their own.”

Success with Self-Regulation
Funded Nov 29, 2022We want to thank you so much for investing in the social-emotional health of our youngest learners! New and exciting materials equates to new learning as we slowly introduce these materials into our classrooms in different ways. Setting boundaries, explaining classroom expectations, and reminders of the already established classroom rules allows for all of the children to gain a deeper ability to regulate and control the emotions and impulses.
Our mornings begin with the children practicing writing their names using the dry erase boards and markers. Our routine was already established but these new materials made the mundane, everyday task excitable and helps to practice following expectations and routine. We utilized the puppets to role play classroom situations to help peers learn to problem solve and work on conflict resolution with others. We practiced these skills in a large group and often times the children would explore the puppets with friends during center time. Lastly, the paper shreds and pom-poms were used to help the children develop their fine motor skills to search for letters and feed animals through different sensory activities.
There activities help to establish a classroom culture that creates boundaries and set high expectations for learning and behavior. Throughout these activities children develop and practice self-regulation to help improve their impulses and control their emotions. We will continue to work on our self-control as we work to create activities to practice and develop our skills.”
