I am incredibly thankful to have this project fulfilled as we head into testing season, and help my students practice their arithmetic skills in order to learn their math this year.   • Creating a Calm Learning Environment

    The school year of 2022-2023 was my first year as a teacher in Philadelphia, and it was truly one of the hardest experiences of my life. Despite the many setbacks I faced, I am deeply committed to my work as a teacher and I truly love the community that I work in.

    Coming into this school year, I spent countless hours envisioning my ideal classroom learning environment and planning out the rules and routines that would help me reach my goal. At one point, however, it became clear that I would need extra resources in order to make this dream come true and I turned to DonorsChoose in this moment of need. I was absolutely thrilled when I learned this project (my very first one!) had been fulfilled, and in September of this year, I was able to complete my classroom vision and create a calm learning environment.

  • Take a Snap!: Photographing 5th Grade Memories This Year

    Your support for our fifth grade classroom has already made the academic year of 2023-2024 even more memorable and fun for my scholars. With our brand-new Instax camera, we have been able to snap pics as moments happen and the students love watching the photos slowly fade in before filling up the film. Our photos have been placed around the classroom, decorating our learning space while commemorating how far we have come already! Already, I am so excited to give back the photos at the end of the year as mementos for the children.

  • Immersive Science Experience Through Owl Pellet Dissection

    I am truly so grateful to have this project fulfilled by your generosity and with your support! I am super excited for my students to immerse themselves into the world of biology and for many of them, this will be their first experience in the science lab. We cannot wait to embark on this learning journey, and make a life-long memory together.
