Teaching Supplies
Funded Nov 7, 2022These new materials allowed me to make the classroom a more inviting, resourceful space. With the chart paper, I was able to make resources for upcoming units. The charts are there for the kids to use and look at as a reminder of what we are learning.
I also used them when students worked in groups so they can write down all their ideas on large paper and have access to it, as opposed to just one sheet.
The markers are good, as it as help me color code the lesson the board and provide more visual supports.”

Non-Fiction, Fiction, Series Books - Oh My!
Funded Nov 5, 2022These new books have allowed students to build their stamina for reading. They have also been able to explore their interests and different genres. With these new series books, students are able to track a main character along many books. We have done a lot of work around story elements, and diving deep into making sure we understand the plot. With the nonfiction books, students have been able to complete informational writing based on their topics. They also enjoyed reading through the lens of researchers.
Reading is a fun time for students. We do independent and partner reading, so they get to talk with their peers and get recommendations.
I have several students new to the country, these books have allowed them to be engaged and access the skill at their own levels.”
