English Language Development
Funded Jan 31, 2024These resources have really helped our students in the classroom. The iPads allow students to translate information between their language and English, helping them to participate in any lesson. They also provide opportunities to use learning apps in class to provide additional support. The charging station keeps the iPads ready to use in class when they are needed.
The conversation cards helped students to practice speaking with a partner. This created a low-pressure environment for English Language Learners to practice listening and speaking.
The reading comprehension cubes have been a great tool for students to follow along with a story and think more about it. This in turn, improves their reading skills in English.
These resources are invaluable additions to our classroom!”

Learning English Skills
Funded Apr 11, 2023Our students were able to use the speakers to listen to "Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief", while reading along in their own copy of the book. They were able to mark text using the transparent sticky notes, and keep track of new words or summarize text. These were valuable resources in listening and reading comprehension for our English Language Learners.
The students were also able to work independently by using the headphones to listen to educational videos and record their own responses verbally. They had the opportunity to practice listening and speaking in English with this resource. The headphones allowed them to do this at their own pace, which is important when learning language.
Thank you so much for your donations!! With these resources, our students had a chance to practice their English language skills together as a whole class, as well as on their own. They really enjoyed reading and listening to the book, as it was interesting and fun for them! The students who had the lowest proficiency, especially benefitted from the clear sticky notes, because it helped them to mark parts where they needed help or needed to return. We really appreciate your support for our students!”
