Learning Can Be Fun
Funded Aug 7, 2024Hello. I wanted to thank you for your generosity to our classroom.
My students and I opened the boxes as soon as they were delivered. The boys and girls were super excited to see all the toys.
The students especially enjoyed the sensory tubs. The girls loved the baking play doh tub. Some of my students have limited communication skills. One of the girls took an adults hand to lead them to sit and play with the play doh and make cakes. The boys especially enjoyed the space sensory tub. I saw the boys cooperating in their play. Now I have a student that talks about earth and moon and makes rocket ships out of STEM toys.
Th fishing game has been a success. In the photo, one of the boys put the fish in a skillet to cook it! I love to watch their reasoning skills at work!
I am so glad I am the person to teach this class! Thank you again.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Coolidge
Hands on Learning in the Classroom
Funded Aug 14, 2023I would like to tell you about my student's experience with your donation to our classroom. As soon as the resources arrives the students were excited to use them.
The magnetic tiles, alphabet and number sound puzzles, floor puzzle, play dough mats and other manipulatives have been a huge success.
As the students are using the hands on manipulatives, I can see social and adaptive skills being developed. The boys and girls are learning to share and take turns. The students are learning basic academic skills with alphabet, number and shape recognition while using these tools.
The most excitement has come from the use of the magnetic tiles. The students creativity has been shown by their creations of rockets, volcanoes, and towers with the tiles. It has also caused a few arguments, unfortunately!
The student's experience with these donations has also increased their self confidence skills.
Your donation has made this possible for my students.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness. It is a blessing to a receiver of Donor's Choose.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Coolidge
This classroom project was brought to life by The State of Oklahoma.Carpet Time
Funded Nov 5, 2022I would like to thank you for your generous gift to my classroom. My project was a gift of a new carpet. The new carpet has brightened my room so much. The carpet is blue and has alphabet letters around the edge with a bright yellow sun in the center with cloud shapes with numbers. I smile every time I walk into my room!
I was amused when some of my sensory seeking students saw the carpet for the first time, the students rolled on the carpet. While others marched on the letters and numbers on the carpet. The students began fussing about who would sit on the sun. So, I assigned the President of the day to sit on the sun.
We have used the carpet for an alphabet learning activity. My Kindergarten students played an alphabet letter matching game. The students were given a letter card and was told to find the matching letter. Once they found the letter, they were to name it and give the letter sound. Then the students were give lower case letter card to match to upper case letters on the carpet. The students were very eager to do this activity. From my students and myself THANK YOU!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Coolidge
