  • Access to Technology and Food: Both Essential to Learning

    A heartfelt thank you from my students and me for your generous donation of snacks and computer mice. The snacks provided students with the energy and focus they needed to complete their assignments. They also served as a valuable incentive, encouraging students to attend after-school tutoring and make progress with their classwork and homework.

    The computer mice have significantly reduced the difficulties students experienced with trackpads. As a result, they have become more digitally proficient and excited about using technology in their learning.

  • Fuel To Succeed

    Funded Nov 18, 2023

    A huge thank you to all the donors who supported my students and I. The snacks provided are being used as an incentive for my students to attend tutoring sessions after school. Instead of coming after school for help with their homework or completing missed work, students often leave campus in search of food to quench their hunger. The snacks motivated my students to come in after school. The nutritious snacks that YOU donors so generously provided for my students shapes their engagement and learning. My students were very surprised that people are generously donating to their well being. They even asked me if I knew the people who donated. Their questions show how important your donation is.

    Besides motivation for tutoring, I noticed that these snacks also provided a sense of comfort and place for my students to just gather and chat about their day. Students come after school to complete their homework or ask for help and they bring friends with them, who are motivated to work also. Although, its sad sometimes because I have to ration the snacks so that it last me the year, I'm glad I was able to provide nutritious snacks to help my students succeed in their education and to help them find a sense of belonging, even if it's only a few hours.”

  • Nourishment Afterschool

    Funded Oct 30, 2022

    On behalf of my students and I, we would like to thank you for donating a very generous amount of snacks for our afterschool tutoring program. As a consequence many students were more than willing to stay after school to complete missing assignments and/or seek help. Students were excited to partake in the variety of food that were available to them. Often students leave school campus to purchase food, but with the snacks I was able to provide another choice, which is to stay and work productively while eating the food you so generously donated.

    The students were so excited to see all the available munchies that were donated to them. They couldn't believe that someone would be willing to give to them so generously. Until today, they are still asking me who donated the food. Such a simple gift, but it made a difference in students attitude toward tutoring. More students were attending our after school tutoring because of these snacks.

    Although the donated snacks have dwindled, we will continue with our after school tutoring program. Students have continued to come because they have seen the improvement in their grades and also because they have made friends while coming after school.”
