  • Explore, Create, Build

    Funded Mar 10, 2025

Wow! We are so very appreciative of your generous donation. Because of donors like you, my students are so fortunate to have access to materials that enhance their learning experiences in STEM.

When the items arrived, they were not only curious, but also so excited to use their imaginations and creativity to build and create just as engineers do. The energy in the classroom was palpable as the students eagerly dove right into the bins and built fascinating structures and other things.

We will continue to use these materials, and each time that we do, we will remember your generous contribution to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Doi

  • Read, Explore, Create

    Funded Oct 16, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation. Through your generosity, my students were able to explore the world of STEM through hands-on learning experiences. They thoroughly enjoyed thinking creatively like engineers as they built various vehicles, structures and much more with the Bristle building blocks, STEM building materials, and magnetic cubes. A student was inspired by the story, "Shark Lady," and used the Bristle blocks to design a ship for Eugenie Clark. Another student wanted to be just like Ada from "Ada Twist, Scientist," and used the magnetic cubes to build an animal she wanted to learn about. This is just the beginning for us, and we are so excited to continue reading, exploring and creating with all of the materials you so generously donated!”

  • Explore, Create, Imagine

    Funded Feb 17, 2024

Thank you so very much for your generous donation! When the items arrived and revealed the books, colorful pattern blocks, Big Plus Plus blocks and the building blocks sets, the student's eyes gleamed with wonder. They were thrilled to explore and create with the wide assortment of new materials. For our first activity with these materials, the students used their imaginations to creat like engineers. They used complex thinking and collaborative skills to build various items such as bridges, parks, flower gardens and much more. These materials will function as tools to model and improve the designs that the students create, and in the future, many more students will have the opportunity to engage in imaginative, collaborative and creative sessions because of your generosity!”

  • Create and Innovate!

    Funded Mar 3, 2023

Thank you very much for donating the awesome STEM kits! The students were so thrilled, and we are so grateful for your generosity!

Using problem solving, imagination and communication skills, the students jumped right into their first project with the kits. They enjoyed collaborating as structural and civil engineers to build models of homes. They identified areas for improvement as they constructed their models, and used complex thinking skills to improve upon their designs. These materials allowed the students to immerse themselves in the engineering design process!”

  • Magnification Explorers

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you so very much for the magnifying glasses! This week, the first graders engaged in a magnification exploration. Using the awesome magnifying glasses, the students explored the natural world just as scientist do. Their curiosity blossomed as they discovered how the magnifying glasses enlarged objects to reveal details hidden to the naked eye. They were fascinated with the texture of a tree's bark, and excitedly shared their observations with each other. In the future, more of the first grade students will engage in this same magnification observation. This was all made possible because of your generosity.”

  • Build and Build!

    Funded Oct 30, 2022

Thank you for the generous donation you made to my STEM classroom. When the students first saw the plethora of new building materials, the excitement was palpable. They squealed with excitement and asked numerous questions about how to use the materials.

When the first grade students used the Playlearn 300 Piece Straws Builders Construction Building Toy with Wheels, it was the first time they were able to use building materials that included wheels. They were beyond excited as they dove into the kits to design and build models of cars and other transportation vehicles. We will continue to use all of the materials that were donated to foster creativity, communication and collaboration skills as we think and create like engineers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Doi
