• Fun at Recess

  Thank you so much for funding my “Fun at Recess” project. The kids are going to love playing soccer with their new soccer balls and making goals in the net. Also, for suppling card stock so we can print out needed flash cards to help the students learn sight words at home.”

• This and That

  Thank you for supplying my classroom with the various items requested.

  I enjoy using the isle for various activities with the students. From modeling how to do different work, displaying classroom expectations and keeping all my supplies organized and in one place, the isle is a practical addition to my classroom.

  The kids enjoy playing on the turtles at recess and practicing their balance.

  The brown paint came in handy for crafts and using the Splat game has been good for practicing beginning and ending sounds.”

• Letter Recognition

  Funded Nov 9, 2023

  Thank you for the donation of uppercase and lower case magnetic letters. I have been able to use them for many different activities since receiving them.

  When the students were learning to recognize each letter, they were able to pull a letter from a bag and match it to the letter on a worksheet.

  Building off of that activity, my students practiced CVC words. They were able to find the letters and build the words as they were saying each sound. It made for a fun center as they were building on recognition from the previous activity and putting the letters together to make words.”

• Backpack Organization

  Thank you for helping me keep my classroom organized and neat. I do not have students tripping over their backpacks, lunch boxes and coats because you have provided a backpack cart for my classroom. The student's know where to hang their coats and backpacks in the morning, where to go when they are getting their lunch boxes and when to get their backpacks to pack up at the end of the day. It has helped to keep my room tidy and organized and all the "stuff" off of the floor for a safe and easy movement in and out of the classroom.”

• Magic Carpet

  Funded Mar 4, 2023

  Thank you so much for providing a new carpet for the classroom. The kids were so excited when they walked in and saw it. One student thought it made our room look bigger. It adds fun color and defines our space for carpet time. The kids loved being able to sit on their spot and it helped them learn to manage their personal space and encourage their neighbors to keep in their space as they sat on the carpet.

  The students were able to learn rows, columns, and making a square. I was able to group them by color of dots. They enjoyed purposeful play on different areas of the carpet.

  The carpet is indeed a fun, and functional addition to our classroom and adds a bit of magic to our day.”

• Teamwork at a Table Your Size!

  The students have so enjoyed their new table. During the day we use it for their "Teamwork Table" and during free play, they use the table for creating art work, coloring, drawing and making crafts. During that time there is usually 6-7 all squeezed around the table. It is their size and the love sitting on the squishy cushions.

  When I got the table set up and the students walked in the classroom for the first time, most of the students eyes lit up and asked "Where did we get that? When do we get to sit there?"

  I also appreciate the squishy cushions. I have a few students that have a difficult time sitting still. Being able to move and rock on the seats helps with their focus, because it allows them to move, while listening and looking at look at me.”
