Real World Application In Math For Students With Autism
Funded Nov 14, 2024The generous donations to this math project for children with autism have made a profound impact on both the students and the classroom experience. Their contributions provided essential learning materials, including magnetic money puzzles and math centers, which have greatly enhanced hands-on, interactive learning.
These tools have been instrumental in helping students grasp real-world money skills, an essential part of their functional math education. The magnetic money puzzles allow them to physically manipulate coins and bills, reinforcing concepts of counting, making change, and recognizing currency. The math centers provide structured, engaging activities that support differentiated learning, catering to the unique needs of each student.
Beyond academics, these materials foster confidence and independence in students, helping them feel successful in their learning journey. The ability to practice real-life transactions in a safe, structured environment prepares them for future vocational opportunities, reinforcing the importance of practical math skills in everyday life.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, these students are not just learning math—they are developing the skills they need to thrive in the real world. Their support has made a lasting difference, empowering children with autism to build confidence and independence through meaningful, engaging math experiences.”

Panther Bites: A Special Needs Student Run Cafe!
Funded Jan 17, 2024I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support of Panther Bites, our student-run café dedicated to empowering students with special needs. Your contribution has made a significant impact on the lives of our students, and I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity.
Since the inception of Panther Bites, our students have been thriving in a nurturing environment where they can learn essential skills and gain valuable experience. Your donation has helped us provide training and resources that enable our students to develop their abilities and build confidence in their capabilities.
One particular aspect of our café that has resonated deeply with our students is the cleaning routine, especially using the steam mop. They have not only learned the importance of cleanliness and hygiene but have also discovered a sense of pride and accomplishment in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our patrons. It's truly heartwarming to see how much they enjoy using the steam mop and taking ownership of this responsibility.
Your support is especially meaningful because it helps us cater to a population that is often overlooked – students with autism. By creating opportunities for them to learn and grow in a supportive setting, you are making a profound difference in their lives and breaking down barriers that hinder their full participation in society.
Once again, thank you for your generosity and belief in our mission. Your donation has touched the lives of our students in ways that words cannot fully express. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support and commitment to making a positive impact in our community.”

Funded Nov 5, 2022My students using the new resources in such a meaningful way! The utilize the furniture for work stations during structured teacher. They use the color coded bins to keep organized and foster independence. A great moment our students had was being able to follow a schedule and work with only small prompts and directions from staff.
Our students come from low income neighborhoods and became so excited to see all the new things in our classroom. They had huge smiles on their faces and treat all materials with such respect.
The next step for our students is to work toward independence by creating a school store where we can apply all the new knowledge from our structured teaching classroom into real world applications.”
