Traveling Without a Plane Ticket

First, I want to thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom.

One extremely beneficial thing about reading is that it gives anyone the opportunity to learn about different places, people, cultures, and concepts. It is liking a more accessible way of traveling. My students have been able to explore different cultures and time periods through your generous gift which has made the discussion in class verb meaningful. Many of the books that were gifted explore various real events in history through the eyes of different characters.

These books have been used in a book club style learning environment. The students will begin reading the story with their group, and as the unit continues, different groups will discuss the plot of their book with guided questions about topics such as theme, plot, setting, and narrative structure. After, the groups will make a powerpoint presentation on the book and paint a ceiling tile that connects to their book. They use important colors and symbols from the book and explain it to the class. The students will paint the ceiling tiles soon, so there will be pictures to come!

Many of my students have enjoyed learning about different historical events from various countries. It has helped them learn more about their world.
