Mother's Day Art Project
Funded Mar 14, 2024Thank you so much for your support with our Mother's Day art project. My students were very excited to unbox everything. Once they saw all the materials they were eager to jump in and start making master pieces for their mothers. Some students were so eager they asked to stay in the classroom during lunch to work on their paintings. It was such a beautiful sight to see my students so engaged and focused.
Once my students were done with their paintings, they got to choose from a assorted collection of Mother's Day cards. They wrote such beautiful words to their mothers.
Their homework was to present their mothers with their gifts and capture the moment in a picture or video. It warmed my heart to see their mothers' reactions. It is something I miss experiencing since I lost my mom. I plan to keep the Mother's Day project going yearly in honor of my mom.”

Fashion Frenzy
Funded Nov 28, 2023Thank you so much for supporting our project. This means so much to us. Our students are so excited to start creating beautiful pieces. Our students have dreamt of putting on a fashion show. The idea of creating one of a kind designs will bring joy and give our students the opportunity to have fun and express their creativity. Our artistic students now can have a space to showcase their talents.”

Funded Nov 23, 2022The new resources we were able to secure with your help allowed us to start a successful after school Cosmetology Club. We meet once every week. Cosmetology Club has become a safe space for our students to express themselves and stay out of trouble. Each week we learn and practice a different cosmetology technique. We have learned how to do a full face of makeup, how to put on and design nails, different hair styling techniques, and much more.
Once the materials started shipping I let my students know that the club will be starting soon. First I wanted to make sure I have written consent from their parents. When the materials started coming in my students were super excited to get started and see all the supplies. On our first day I made a nice display table to showcase our materials. My students were so happy. They were like little kids in a candy store. It was such a beautiful sight to see.
After school clubs have been a huge part of building community within our school. Our next steps is to add a fashion club. I have created a new project "Fashion Finesse." The goal is to have students create and customize clothing to share with our school community. We would like to merge the projects and put together a fashion show before school ends to showcase all our students hard work and the techniques they've learned.”
