Funded Oct 18, 2022I can say that all of my classes have been enjoying the decorations and resources we received from this project. Most of my students felt appreciated knowing that their heritage and culture is represented. It has also been helpful to have flags up because it has sparked conversations either between each other or with me as a teacher. Additionally, other teachers and staff have complimented my decorations and even followed suit.
At first most students were confused as to why I had things that appeared to be unrelated to Spanish but understood and appreciated the deeper meaning. I have seen students take pictures of my classroom, take pictures with different flags or posters or simply compliment me on them. All of the Spanish posters I received from the project have been helping the students have accessible resources all over the wall.
I want to continue to incorporate representation into my classroom. It is important to me to keep the content relevant to those learning it.”
