First Grade Headphones!
Funded Feb 10, 2023These head phones have really helped with academics that are provided on the computer in my classroom. In my county, we are required to do 30 minutes a week of iReady for both reading and math. This is an online curriculum that is often used for intervention for struggling students, as well. These headphones have been durable and reliable for students to keep in their desks to use when they are on their Chromebooks.
Another activity that my classroom has been required to do on the computer this year is a pilot test for the GSA for first graders. There was a lot of recordings of directions that the students had to listen to and the headphones help cut out on all of the extra noise. In my classroom, I really try to incorporate some online games to help students practice skills that are being used in the classroom, too.
By having these headphones, students are able to hear their activities on their Chromebooks really well. Also, they are durable and have been a huge help in allowing students to not be distracted by other students' sounds coming from their own Chromebooks.”

Getting Comfortable and Smarter!
Funded Aug 7, 2023This donation has been very much appreciated within my classroom. I have been able to make the classroom homey and provide students with basic needs such as having a big stock of tissues to start the year! I've already had some sniffles from students in class so it has been nice to have the stock of tissues to turn to. Their noses appreciate it, I'm sure. Along with making them feel safe and welcome, I was able to receive a few academic games and items to better the students' educations. Students were very happy to receive brand new sticks of glue along with a brand new 120 chart to manipulate to better develop their number skills.
Students have been using their glue sticks for both art projects and cutting/ pasting activities in reading and math class. My students favorite items that we received in my classroom are my LED lights and my push it lights. The LED lights make a nice welcoming feeling into the classroom and it makes for a relaxing learning environment. My push it lights are used to tell students when it is time to talk, whisper, and work silently. It has really helped the students to have a visual to follow instructions on talking expectations during different classroom activities. Again, thanks for the donation so I can provide a nice classroom and classroom supplies for my students.”
