• Snacks for Hungry Learners

  Thanks to your donation, we can continue to support students in all grade levels K-5th Grade. Your caring and generosity have added the little mid-day boost that we all need sometimes. We are thankful to have you as part of our efforts to help our school community.

  Food significantly impacts learning by influencing cognitive function, mood, and overall well-being. I want to tell you how your donation helped us. I have a 2nd Grade student student who was having a rough time in the classroom. The teacher thought there was something happening with them in their personal lives. After discussing with the student I realized she was "Hangry". I offered her many Goldfish crackers and Oreos. These snacks were a mood booster and held her down the last two periods before her lunchtime.

  Truly thank you so much for supporting us. I can't tell you how many thank yous I get from students for offering a mid-day snack break especially now as state testing preparation occurs.”

• Little Humans Have Big Feelings Too

  What a year it has been! In my three years of counseling, this year has been one for books; from engaging activities like Fill Your Bucket and emotion: spot ALL grades loved it from kindergarten through 5th grade. They related to these materials, created with these materials, and calmed down with these materials. We are beyond grateful for all your generosity. I hope you enjoy these pictures of what you did for us! Thank you so much

  After the global pandemic, mental health is now being recognized. We all have feelings and many do not know what we are feeling and what to do with our huge emotions that is appropriate. Our student's health affects everything from their attitude towards learning and coming to school, to overall behavior and well-being.”

• Treats for Hungry Learners

  There is not a day here where our students at PS.56 do not give it their all. Weateer I used these treats as incentives to get work done on those harder days. For that yummy treat was what pushed them to be the best they could be or on says were they just needed a little pick me up to get through the day.

  These little snacks made an incredible difference. We are so grateful for your donation and for being a part of our cause. We are humbled by your generosity and thankful for your commitment to our cause. Your support makes a huge impact. I saw the difference in faces and emotions when I noticed work was not getting done. As soon as the snacks came out a given to our little ones it was almost instant. They needed a boost of energy. The students now often ask me if is today a working snack day and to that I always respond as long as we get work done particpate we can surely have a working snack day.”

• Bright and Colorful Sel Experience

  Thank you donor! Myself and the students had a bright and colorful year thanks to your generosity.

  In the 2022-2023 school year about 60 students were able to take home an SEL booklet that contained a mood meter and coping stagties of their choosing ALL IN COLOR. Not only were they excited to learn more about coping skills, student have come up to me and tell me how much they use and love their social emotional booklet.

  This year I also found that students are more likely to take care of their colored sheet versus a black and white copy. Since having this printer I am able to print out mental health games, activities and slideshows for the studentt to take home.”
