Share What You Can Spare
Funded Jan 10, 2023"Share what you can spare" has already made a huge impact on class 2-214. Each day, many students come in extremely hungry and do not like the options available in the cafeteria. This in turn causes the students to be starving and waiting until 12:30 for lunch. They struggle with focusing because they have stomach aches. I have provided hundreds of dollars of my own money buying snacks, meals, and goodies for these kids. No child should ever be hungry. After many months of this, my wallet unfortunately cannot continue to purchase what I have in the past. With your donations, not only did these children get foods such as cereals, soups, oatmeal, pudding, crackers, and cheese with crackers, but also delicious snacks such as candy, rice crispy treats, and chips. These children have been so excited seeing so many options to choose from.
Luckily my class has been chosen to go to the local YMCA to learn how to swim as a safety initiative. These kids have an amazing time not only learning how to stay safe in the pool, but have a blast while doing so. Most of my students have never been in a pool before. When we come back to the classroom, most kids kids are starving, but it is not quite time for lunch. After many weeks, it is hard to provide food for all children. These snacks/foods have not only filled their bellies, but filled their hearts. We are so grateful for all of your donations and kindness of opening up your heart to these students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Modafferi
