Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project. My students are thoroughly enjoying our LEGO robotics kit. When we first received our kit my students couldn't wait to get their hands on it. They were absolutely ecstatic!

Currently in our classroom groups of students are taking turns building a robot and programming the robot to do different things. The LEGO kit and programming app are super easy to use! My students are loving the ability to explore new ways to create a robot and program it to do different things.

I am hoping to add another kit to our classroom in the near future so we can have more than just a couple of students working on this at a time.

Again, thank you so much for your generous donation that made this learning opportunity possible for my students. I look forward to using this kit for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gaunce

My students looked at different types of flexible seating that teachers have in their classrooms. We had a class discussion about flexible seating - what it is, why it's good, and how you could use it effectively in the classroom. After our discussion students completed an On-Demand writing prompt about why flexible seating is a good thing to have in the classroom.

When I first brought our new seats into my classroom my students were thrilled!! They couldn't wait to try them out. While they were finishing their writing piece I allowed students to have a few minutes to try them out while they were working. They were so excited to have the opportunity to try something new. Several students commented on how much they would enjoy getting to sit on seats like this every day. One student even asked if she could have her mom and dad buy one for her to keep at school to use every day :)

During the remainder of this school year, students will get to use the flexible seating when they are writer of the day. Over the summer I plan to add to my flexible seating collection. I want to add some bean bags, some pillows, and some mats for students to sit on. Students will be able to choose from these different seating options at various times throughout the school year next year. I think this will make a huge difference in my students effort and focus in my classroom

Thank you so much for your generous donation and for making this possible for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gaunce

I teach fifth grade writing. My students enjoy hands-on activities, group work, movement, and having some choices about their learning. We work hard at our school to incorporate Kagan strategies. We want to encourage students to talk about their ideas and work together to solve problems. This is my tenth year of teaching and every year I strive to make my classroom better than it was the year before.
