Capturing a Community With Visuals
Funded Feb 3, 2023My students are extremely thankful for the document camera. My students are so excited that they can actually see what is being taught on the Promethean Board. Now all 32 students can see the words on the board when we do Shared Reading. They look forward to being able to see with clarity what is being read. We do Phonics in the morning together and discuss letters and sounds. They enjoy coming to the board and writing letters that corresponds to the sounds. They love to see their classmates share their work with the document camera. They are so supportive of each other and helping to build each other's confidence.
The students are most excited about doing shared reading. They love and enjoy reading together as a class. All the children look forward to see what is being taught. Most of the class are visual learners and cannot wait to see what they will be learning next.
There are a handful of students who are very shy and reserved when it is time to share their work. Now they cannot wait to complete the task in order for them to share it using the document camera. They love to show their finished work and feel very proud.”

Funded Jan 11, 2023This project has had such a positive impact on my students. They enjoy celebrating each other's birthdays and it builds upon their self esteem. The children are so thankful for your donation. They know when their classmates' birthday is coming up and look forward to celebrating that special moment. When there is a birthday, the students share the materials that were donated. The gift of playdough and a treat has added an emotional support and helped create a positive environment that builds upon classroom buddies. They feel so SPECIAL!!!! The birthday celebrations are building friendships and is creating an effective learning environment.
When my students first saw the materials, their eyes were full of joy. They cheered so loud and got extremely excited. They could not hide their excitement. They know and understand that sometimes parents are not able to buy treats for the entire class. So they now look forward to the celebrations.
On a daily basis, we discuss SEL activities and how we need to be kind to each other. Students are eager to share their kindness and support with each other like a true family. They will continue to build upon their friendships with years to come. Thank you again for supporting my firsties with your generous donations.”

Funded Nov 28, 2022My students and I would like to thank you for your generosity. Students are using the STEM activities on Fridays. They are showing their creativity and love for learning. The STEM activities have greatly supported students with their learning. They are using critical thinking skills to help them figure out how to put the objects together. Not only are they using critical thinking skills but they are having so much fun.
When they first saw the materials they got super excited. They were thrilled to finally have STEM activities available in the classroom. They were looking forward to using the activities. When the day finally came, the students were overwhelmed with joy as I was gathering all the activities and ready to explain to them the lesson at hand.
The next project will be, students will describe and explain in their notebooks how they built certain objects using the materials.
Thank you again for your generosity and support. We are so grateful that you funded this mission where the students are able to explore and discover their creativity.”
