90% of Success Is Showing Up!
Funded Oct 25, 2023Thank you so much for the resources provided! The students were excited and extremely grateful to have incentives for their hard work, progress, and achievements. Snacks and gift cards were raffled in school wide events to cultivate an endearing school environment and to encourage students to have a positive association to school. We celebrated every 25th day of school with a Wheel of Prizes for students who arrived to school on time. We celebrated Kindness Week with a raffle for students who completed our kindness challenge and snacks for students who wrote "Thank You" notes to staff or students.
Snacks and gift cards were given to students who participated in our weekly attendance group that targeted students who needed extra support with motivation. The goal was to ensure students took accountability for their attendance and learning. Students discussed their barriers to success and encouraged one another to progress. We also discussed social emotional skills like emotional regulation, time management, prioritization, balancing school and personal life, and setting routines and positive habits. Students who demonstrated improvement with grades were provided a gift card.
A positive result was seeing how students advocated for themselves and negotiated ways to earn the incentives. The next steps are to encourage students to maintain progress. They have mastered accountability for their actions and were inspired to elicit change. The incentives showed them they were able to make better choices!
Thank you in supporting us in our mission and vision. We couldn't have done it without you!”

Funded Dec 29, 2022Thank you so much for the resources provided! The students were excited and extremely grateful to have incentives for their hard work, progress, and achievements. Snacks and gift cards were raffled in school wide events to cultivate an endearing school environment and to encourage students to have a positive association to school. We celebrated the 100th day of school with a Wheel of Prizes for students who arrived to school on time. We celebrated Kindness Week with a raffle for students who completed our kindness challenge and snacks for students who wrote "Thank You" notes to staff. We also had a Lounge Day in the grass area with a 3-Legged and Potato Sack race. The winners received a gift card.
Snacks and gift cards were also given to students who participated in our weekly attendance group that targeted 8th graders who needed extra support with grades and attendance. The goal was to ensure students were on track to culminate.
For instance, a student who missed school 2 days out of the week requested a gift card if he attended each class period on time and was not sent to the dean's office. The next steps are to encourage students to maintain progress. They have mastered accountability for their actions and were inspired to elicit change. The incentives showed them they were able to make better choices!
