Coding, Robotics, and More . . . Oh My!

My words cannot express what this STEM project means to students so I will give you an example from last Friday when I told the kids that the Cognizant Foundation funded their project. A student (he's a senior) said, "We're getting a robot this year?" I told him yes, the Cognizant Foundation funded it. He said "Wow! When we were in middle, we built robots out of popsicle sticks. And they didn't move!" Students are being given opportunities they would never see otherwise. It took the mentioned student all of his school years to get hands-on experience with a real robot.
